On this day in recent history -

Rydell reaffirms his state of Rule,

Rydell should really learn to form an opinion. He really sticks the shadows as everyone else shares the limelight. What's up with that Rydell?

Seriously, Rydell keeps us all on our toes. Even when he doesn't realize he's doing it. Erudite and quickwitted he is an assett to our community. Plus he has the most beautiful eyesbrows I've ever seen on a man. Just beautiful.

Give 'em hell, Rydell !!

I admired Rydell for his style, grace and acting ability for years before I actually got to know him. When we did finally get to know each other after I joined the Other Books cast at Dickens, he made me feel like we'd been friends for years and treated me like an important member of the team even though I was a new kid. His talent as a performer and director never cease to inspire me, yet he is so unassuming. If I wasn't already older than he is, I could honestly say that I'd like to grow up to be like Rydell.

A very talented actor as we all know...and very handsome and evil....I like evil....Hansome,evil men make me smile! Thanks for the smile!

Despite being too handsome for his own good, and being an extremely talented actor, Rydell is astonishingly modest. He has shown a great flair as a director, gathering a talented cast and providing the framework within which they can shine. He also takes the time to help others. He stays in touch with his friends. He accessorizes appropriately for the occasion. He has obscure knowledge. He's one of the "cool kids."

Rydell is not only a fine and talented Actor in any time period, but a modest and handsome fellow as well. I look forward to working with him more in the future.

Well..um being new to knowing him I can only say what I have observed. The man is not afraid to be curious. While in the midst of one of the few serious (not acting) moments at Dickens he diegned to try on the bird (hat). and presume the evil look. MM T. being the last to see was a little derailed, then on turning became aflutter. Thus causing all of us characters to relax and be ready to slip into character on a very long to arduous day. Thank you for both your strength of acting skills (made a level for me to ascrybe to) and the aire of calm truely needed amongst us goofs. Nifty guy is this Mr. D.

I had the pleasure of connecting with Rydell at a recent Bay Area Tarot Society Symposium. He is a warm and amicable man with a smile that can light up a room. I look forward to getting to know him better, thanks to Tribe!

Rydell is an absolutely kick-ass Theatrician (I think I just made up a word!). I experienced his expertise while working under his directorship in the OtherBooks cast at Dickens in 2005. His leadership was excellent and his own acting skil superb! It was an absolute pleasure working with him and if you ever get the chance to do so, you should (hint: come join us in the Otherbooks next year-we've the most fun backstage anywhere, well... AHEM... um... except maybe Postcards where I WAS SURROUNDED BY BEAUTIFUL NAKED WOMEN ALL NIGHT! OH.... <pause> Excuse me. Lost my composure for just a moment... AHEM! Now where was I?
Oh, yes, Rydell! Rydell was great fun to hang with and a store of theatrical knowledge and also of British cultural knowledge! I'm so glad I met him and got to work with him. Oh, yes, he also has the reputation of being Gods Gift To Cravat Tying and I declare that he has earned it! I know more about cravats and how to tie them then I ever thought possible. Thank you Rydell! Thanks for everything. You really made my first foray into the world of Dickens Fair a wonderful and delightful one! You're a great director and a fantastic fellow improv actor!

[Yep, as the DangerAngel mentioned, the dude was so a Mod back in the day.]

I've known the RyGuy since 6th grade (on my part) as we were Martians together one day at a school playground in Petaluma (met up, proceeded to make antennae out of pipe cleaner wire, then escaped outside from the MGM program classroom to try to convince the more gullible kids we were visiting from Mars). That was about 27 years ago (yiipes!).

Next time I remember meeting him was in the summer on a beach in Sonoma County circa 1979/1980. He mentioned this cool thing called the Renaissance Faire that would occur in Novato. He and the Ren-Faire changed my life's course (knocked askew, blown of course and lost ever since, heh!).

My musical tastes grew out of the many sessions listening to "Revolution #9" "Tommy" & "Tubular Bells" afterschool in his bedroom (heard my first taste of the outre when he played Devo and Dead Kennedys to shock me out of my Sci-Fi soundtrack listening haze).

I don't see much of him outside of the occasional meeting out in front of the Dark Garden Windows at Dick-Fair these days, but as a friend he's a keeper!

I've known Rydell for... blimey... 25 years! He's always been a good friend, and despite not seeing each other much in the last 10 years - I'll always count him as a scorpio brother. And I'll tell you a little known fact... when I met Rydell, he was a mod. Really. Pea coat and all. I'm not joking.
